This morning our coop was holding 20*f. Our three roosters already have frost bite and blackened combs due to the last cold snap. Our coop is not insulated--it's from decades ago. We now know this summer we need to do some work on it. WWYD with them knowing temps with windchill will be below freezing for at least a week an below 0 many nights? I been reading about using Vaseline. I been reading about some people bringing their chickens into basements. We have an unheated dirt basement that is appox 40*

I have heard Vaseline work well. Sorry to hear about your birds.
