:( This is my deck eggplant. We have five more in the garden that don't show signs of being fed on.

I think it's probably slugs... They're probably coming out at night chewing on your plant and then heading down into the soil and your pot:( You really should try and identify exactly what is doing this and unfortunately for us they usually eat at night. Get a flashlight and go out there tonight about an hour after the sun goes down and look to see if it is slugs:) It could also be inchworms. Slugs will not hide very good but inchworms Wilhide on the underside of the leaves.

Take that same flashlight and shine it behind the leaves so that you can see the shadow of the worms:) The plan is still small enough to where you can just pull them off and kill them.

For slugs you can use coffee grounds spread around the base of your plant:) I did a couple videos to show how it works for me!

I have looked and looked during the day so it must be slugs. I will pot coffee grounds out and see what happens. :)

Are they used grounds?

That is awesome HB:) I was shocked at how good it worked but it really does! Coffee grounds actually act like a neurotoxin to slugs and snails. Not to mention it taste great!! Ha ha ha!!
